Robin Systems is an Enterprise Containerization Software company offering container-based compute and storage management software. Founded in 2013, Robin addresses the growing trend toward use of containers – stand-alone lightweight packages that provide an isolated environment for software applications[1] – by enabling IT organizations to utilize commodity hardware as an agile, elastic, and high-performance operating platform for mission-critical enterprise applications, such as databases and Big Data.[2]
In 2016 Robin was named a Stevie Award winner by the American Business Awards.[3]
History
Robin Systems was founded in 2013. Silicon Valley entrepreneur Rajeev Madhavan was an early Angel investor in Robin and assumed the role of Chairman.[4]
Robin has attracted $21.7 million in equity funding.[5] In October 2015 Robin raised $15 million in a Series A round led by DN Capital, Hasso Plattner Ventures and USAA.[6]
