Founded in 2008 by Jared Sagal and Cathy Sagal, the company has several divisions,[1] handling record production, film production, management, and advertising. Rockerrazzi.com has interviewed artists[2][3][4] such as Nikki Sixx, Mumford and Sons, Imagine Dragons and Dave Grohl, while Rockerrazzi Filmz has released music videos and online material for artists such as Imagine Dragons, Dead Sara, Offspring, and Kwanza Jones. The band Galvanized Souls is currently signed to Rockerrazzi Records for music publishing, production, and management. As of 2014, Jared Sagal was working on a documentary on Dead Sara,[1] and his rockumentary Deportes about The Last Internationale is slotted to debut at Sundance Film Festival in 2015.[5]

History

The entertainment company Rockerrazzi was first founded in Beverly Hills, California by Jared Sagal. A musician, manager, record producer, and film director,[1] Sagal is also a former NCAA Division 1 soccer player who had played pro for years in Germany and Sweden.[5] He founded the website Rockerrazzi.com in October 2008, beginning to interview notable musicians about their music. Several months later, in January 2009 he founded Jared Sagal Music, an imprint for releasing his own singer-songwriter material. He co-founded Rockerrazzi in March 2009 along with Cathy Sagal, and they segmented the company into several divisions.[1] Their catchline is "Rockerrazzi - the most compelling visual content for bands and brands."[6]

The married couple continue to run the company, with Cathy leading the film prop and editing divisions.[5] While continuing to do celebrity interviews, in 2010 Jarad Sagal began hosting the Rockerrazzi Report on 987fm.com, holding a weekend slot'[1] and leading 98.7's music video division.[5] In April 2010 he became an on-air host and journalist for The Nikki Sixx Sideshow Countdown,[1] working alongside Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue.[5] Also in 2010, Chris Cassidy of the Grammy Foundation contacted Sagal to have Rockerrazzi handle various Grammy live interviews and Red Carpet events.[6]

As of 2013 regular Rockerrazzi material was being released for the bands Galvanized Souls,[1] Dead Sara, and The Last Internationale.[1] As of 2014 they are working with the Interscope Records artist The Eeries on a visual brand campaign.[6]

Divisions

Rockerrazzi has multiple divisions, including artist development, advertising, a production studio and record label, and a film studio. Division names include Rockerrazzi Filmz, Rockerrazzi Dezine, Rockerrazzi Recordz, Rockerrazzi Muzic, and Artist Performance. There is also Rockerrazi Streetz, or "celebrity street reporting." According to the Rockerrazzi website, the latter division is "about being respectful and insightful rather than sensational and intrusive."[1] As an interviewer for Rockerrazzi.com, Sagal has interviewed artists such as Ben Harper in 2010,[2] Billy Corgan in 2010,[3] and The Dirty Heads when they performed at The Viper Room.[4] Others interviewed artists include Nikki Sixx, Mumford and Sons, Imagine Dragons and Dave Grohl.[6]

The footage was included in a music video released exclusively to Rolling Stone on January 14, 2013.[12] In 2013 Sagal also directed a live music video for their track "Weatherman,[8] which combines tour footage and shows with Chevelle and The Used, as well as their performances at Warped Tour.[13] As of 2014 Sagal was working on a feature-length documentary for the band.[1]
