Rodner Figueroa
Rodner Figueroa (born 1972) is a Venezuelan television show host.[1] Figueroa worked at Univision, at shows such as El Gordo y La Flaca[2] and Sal y Pimienta.
Controversy
Early during 2015, Figueroa compared Michelle Obama to one of the characters in the movie Planet of the Apes. This was viewed as a racist comment by many and Figueroa was subsequently fired by Univision.[1] He later publicly apologized about the comments and wrote Obama a letter in which he commented that he, as a gay Hispanic man, felt marginalized by society at large sometimes.
Personal
Figueroa and the man who replaced him as host of Sal y Pimienta, Mexican show host Carlos Calderon, are personal friends. Figueroa stated he is happy that Calderon replaced him.[3]
