Roman Catholicism in Uganda

The Roman Catholic Church in Uganda is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope in Rome. There are an estimated 13.6 million Catholics about 42% of the total population, estimated at about 32.4 million in 2010.[1] There are four archdioceses, divided into 19 dioceses:

The Catholic Church celebrates on June 3 the feast of the Uganda Martyrs Saint Charles Lwanga [2] and his companions who died between 1885 and 1887.
