Ron Burnett

Ron Burnett (born 24 May 1947, London, England) is the president and vice-chancellor of Emily Carr University of Art and Design and the author of Cultures of Vision: Images, Media and the Imaginary,[1] published by Indiana University Press in 1995 and How Images Think published by MITPress.[2] He is the editor of Explorations in Film Theory published in 1991 by Indiana University Press.[3] He is the author of over 150 published articles and book chapters. He is an adjunct professor at York University, and is one of the founders of Canadian Film Studies through a journal that he developed and edited, Ciné-Tracts, from 1976 until 1982.[4] Dr. Burnett is now completing his 19th year as President and Vice-Chancellor. He is building a new 122.5 million dollar campus for Emily Carr at the Great Northern Way site owned by BCIT, UBC, Emily Carr and SFU.[5]
