Ron Ramin
Ronald "Ron" Ramin (born 1953 in New York City[1]) is an American composer for TV and film.
Life and career
Ramin is the only child of composer Sid Ramin and his wife Gloria Ramin, née Gloria Breit.[2]
Ramin grew up in New York City. After he studied at Princeton University he moved to Los Angeles and started a career as film composer.
In 1994 he was nominated for an Primetime Emmy Award in the category Outstanding Individual Achievement in Music Composition for a Series (dramatic underscore) for his work on the pilot of Christy.[3] At the 18th CableACE Awards in 1996 he was awarded a prize in the category Original Score for his work on Rent-a-Kid.[4]
Ramin is married to journalist and author Cathryn Jakobson Ramin since 1988.[2][5] He is father of two sons and lives with his wife in Northern California.
