Wallace Ronald Roy (born April 29, 1940), or Ron Roy, is an American writer of children's fiction, primarily mysteries for young readers. He is best known for the series A to Z Mysteries (from 1997) and Capital Mysteries (from 2001). A new series, the Calendar Mysteries, is designed for first and second graders.

Roy was born in Hartford, Connecticut, grew up in East Hartford, and has lived in Connecticut most of his life.[1] He was a fourth grade teacher until he sold his first book in 1978; since then he has been a full-time writer.[2] His first several books were unpaged picture books.

For 1978 to 1988 publications there are 18 Library of Congress online catalog records for Ron Roy (with some duplicate titles), then none until 1996.

A to Z Mysteries representing M, N, and O, and the first Capital Mystery were published in 2001.
