Ronald received an Bachelor of Science in Electric Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master of Science and Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.[1] Ronald is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Avere Systems, Inc. Prior to Avere, Ronald was a senior vice president at NetApp. Before NetApp, he was CEO and co-founder of Spinnaker Networks. Ron also served as vice president of product architecture of FORE Systems, where he was responsible for ATM products. Previously, he co-founded Scalable Networks, and earlier in his career, he was a professor at Carnegie Mellon University.[2] Ronald holds 24 patents[3] related to fault-tolerant distributed systems and high-speed network design and has published extensively in scientific journals.[4]

Ron's contributions to technology entrepreneurship was covered in a seven-part series by Sramana Mitra where his background was discussed interview style, covering his education and work history.[5] Ron continues to support local entrepreneurship in Pittsburgh as board chairman at Innovation Works.[6]

Ron Bianchini was named a finalist for EY Entrepreneur of the Year in 2014.[7]

Bianchini was born in Brooklyn, New York and currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.[8]
