Ronald Tutor

Ronald Tutor is an American Armenian[1] businessman and investor. He is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Tutor Perini, and President of the Tutor-Saliba Corporation.

Biography

Early life

He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1963.[2][3]

Career

He started a career in construction shortly after graduation, working for Tutor-Saliba and A.G. Tutor Co.[3] He now serves as Chairman, CEO and President of Tutor Perini, and President of the Tutor-Perini Corporation.[3][4] He received the United States Army Corps of Engineers National Contractor of the Year Award for Civil Works Projects in 1994.[2]

In 2010, he was a lead investor in the $650 million purchase of Miramax Films from The Walt Disney Company, investing between US$50 million and US$35 million.[5][6][7] In 2013, he sold his stake to the Qatar Investment Authority.[5][8]

He serves on the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, USC.[4] The Ronald Tutor Campus Center and the USC Viterbi School of Engineering’s Tutor Hall on the USC campus are named in his honor.[2] He has received the Asa V. Call Alumni Achievement Award from USC.[2]

Personal life

He used to reside in a Tudor style 20,000-square-foot home with 3.39 acres of landscaped gardens, a lake, a tennis court, a swimming-pool and several hot tubs in the gated community of Hidden Hills, California, formerly rented by singer Britney Spears.[9] He owned the Pegasus V yacht.[10]He has three children from previous marriage and two sons with his wife, Alia.
