Ross Richard Yates (born June 18, 1959) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and a former American Hockey League head coach. He played seven National Hockey League (NHL) games with the Hartford Whalers during the 1983–84 season. He is the current head coach with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL.
