Tan Sri Rozali Ismail is a very successful Malay businessman. Currently he is the CEO of SYABAS a water concession company for the state of Selangor.[1] His salary is a whooping RM 5.1 million a year.[2][3] Blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin has claimed that the parent company of Selangor water concessionaire Syabas is bankrupt, citing it as a reason behind Putrajaya’s effort to stall Selangor’s effort to consolidate its water industry.[4] Rozali Ismail is also the president of the Malay Business Association of Selangor {DPMMS}.[5] He is the founder and the Executive Chairman of Puncak Niaga Holdings Berhad.[6][7] He was listed as one of the 40 richest men in Malaysia in 2010.[8] According to Puncak Niaga Annual Report 2012, his total numeration fell within the RM33.3-RM33.4 million band during the financial year.[9] His lucrative remuneration package has drawn public ire given the unsatisfactory level of water services in Selangor.[10]

In the political scene, Tan Sri Rozali Ismail was the treasurer of UMNO Selangor and also UMNO Hulu Selangor Division. [5]

Rozali Ismail is also the adviser for the Sultan Idris Shah Polytechnics.[11]
