Rugby Union Club Piešťany is a Slovakian rugby club based in Piešťany, created in 2014. They currently participate in international tournaments, local tournaments and friendly matches with other Slovak teams.
The team plays at PFK Piešťany´s football pitch, and wears light blue and white. Rugby Union Club Piešťany je slovenský rugby klub so sídlom v Piešťanoch založený v roku 2014. Momentálne sa zúčastňuje na medzinárodných a miestnych turnajoch a priateľských zápasov so ostatnými slovenskými klubmi.
Tím hrá na ihrisku patriacom futbalovému klubu PFK Piešťany. Tím oblieka modro – biele dresy.
History
Creation
The club was established in 2014 by Terry Purton and Charles Cimetiere, who are initially involved to develop the sports association. Furthermore, Terry Purton develops the clubs training facilities and acquires equipment.
Vznik Klub založili v roku 2014 Terry Purton a Charles Cimetiere, v súčasnosti angažovaní v budovaní športovej asociácie. Prezident klubu Terry Purton navyše zaobstaráva klubu zázemie na tréning a potrebné vybavenie.
Rugby life
The club currently provides support to any rugby team who needs additional players for friendly matches and tournaments. The club is expected to establish a full squad shortly to participate in league matches and tournaments independently. The club welcomes and accommodates both native Slovaks and expatriates with a variety of playing experiences. The club emphasises that prior rugby experience is not necessary to join. As Piešťany is Europewide known spa city, it attracts investment from Europe and beyond. This explains the diversity of nationalities representing the club at present.

Klub v súčasnosti poskytuje podporu všetkým rugby tímom ktoré potrebujú doplniť počty hráčov pre turnaje a priateľské zápasy. Klub by mal v blízkej dobe získať dostatok hráčov na vybudovanie kompletnej zostavy potrebnej na vstup do ligy. Klub víta a oceňuje tak slovenských ako aj zahraničných hráčov a konzultantov so skúsenosťami v oblasti rugby. Klub zdôrazňuje že pre hráčov nie sú skúsenosti podmienkou pre vstup. Nakoľko Piešťany sú medzinárodne známe kúpeľné mesto, láka investície z celej Európy. Tento fakt vysvetľuje aj rôznorodosť národností reprezentujúcich klub.
Trainings
The club offers weekly training sessions to anyone interested in rugby. Men, women, children, of any age and experience are encouraged to contact the club for further information about joining. Currently, the club holds trainings sessions every Tuesday and Thursday evening and Sunday morning. These training sessions are held primarily in English, although commands are often translated to Slovak. Rugby Union Club Piešťany offers a dynamic mixture of fitness, basic skills, advanced skills and team building. The aim of the training sessions are to ensure that the players are physically, mentally and strategically ready for competitive games, in a diverse and friendly community.
Tréning
Klub vedie tri krát týždenne tréningy pre kohokoľvek kto sa zaujíma o rugby . Muži, ženy i deti v každom veku majú možnosť kontaktovať klub pre detailnejšie informácie ohľadom vstupu do klubu. Aktuálne sa tréningy konajú každý utorok a štvrtok večer a nedele doobeda. Tieto tréningy sú väčšinou vedené v angličtine, avšak s možnosťou prekladu do slovenčiny. Klub ponúka dynamický mix kondičného tréningu, základných vedomostí a skúseností o hre a utužovania tímu. Hlavným cieľom tréningu je zabezpečiť aby boli hráči fyzicky, mentálne aj strategicky pripravení na zápasy v rôznorodej a priateľskej komunite.
Competitions
The club plays currently in Slovak league, including Rugby Klub Bratislava, Rugby Club Slovan Bratislava, Trnava Rugby Club, Zilina Rugby Club, and Kosice Rugby Club.
