Rushmore Mall

Rushmore Mall is a shopping mall located in Rapid City, South Dakota. It opened in 1978 and fulfills the needs of residents in a sprawling western South Dakota/northwestern Nebraska/northeastern Wyoming market area. The center also does a thriving business with the throngs of summer and fall tourists visiting Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park and other points reached via Interstate 90. The mall is currently owned by WP Glimcher.

The mall's anchors are Sears, JCPenney, and Herberger's, with a vacant anchor last occupied by Target.

In 2012, the mall was taken to a servicer, due in part to JCPenney threatening mall owners to leave unless they were allowed to relocate to a larger store.[1]

In 2013, Amazon approached the mall managers to discuss plans for turning the mall into a regional fulfillment warehouse for Amazon.com orders.
