Ruth Evensen

Ruth Evensen (born 1951 in Gladsaxe, Denmark) is the co-founder and leader of the Christian free church Faderhuset which became widely known for its controversial purchase of Ungdomshuset in Copenhagen.

Although she does not have any education in theology, she was the reverend of Faderhuset from 1998 to 2004.[1] She is currently spokesperson, consultant and supervisor for the group.[1]

On July 7, 2007, Ruth Evensen announced the founding of a new political party, the Freedom Party (Danish: Frihedspartiet).[2] Eivind Fønss and Agner Dalgaard are co-founders of the party.[2] One of the party's core policies is an opposition to free abortion, and the party announced its creation on the day that the Danish Christian Democratic Party announced that it no longer opposed free abortion.[3]

On January 3, 2011 Ruth Evensen released an anti-abortion music video called "Red Danmarks Børn"[4] (Save the Children of Denmark).
