Ruth Hamblin

Ruth Hamblin (born June 24, 1994 in Smithers, British Columbia) is a female Canadian basketball center for the Dallas Wings of the WNBA. She was drafted 18th overall by the Wings in the 2016 WNBA Draft. She played college basketball for Oregon State.[1]


Oregon State accomplishments

In her sophomore year, 2013–14, Hamblin recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks. This represented the first triple-double at Oregon State in 30 years. The 10 blocks is a school record.[2]

In her junior year, 2014–15, she averaged 3.8 blocks shots per game which was six best in the country among Division I schools. Her field-goal percentage of 58% was eighth best in the nation.[3]

As a senior, in 2015–16 she recorded 130 blocks which was second in the nation. She averaged 3.5 blocked shots per game which was fourth best in the nation.[3]

WNBA draft 2016

In the WNBA draft, Hamblin was chosen by the Dallas Wings as the 18th overall pick.[4]
