Ruzhdi Pulaha

Ruzhdi Pulaha (born in 1942 in Korca) is an Albanian writer who has created mainly in the genre of drama. His dramas and comedies are staged not only at the National Theatre, but also in Korca and other theaters of the country.

After studying language and literature at the University of Tirana, Pulaha worked for about ten years in the Albanian Radio Television. In 1975 he became a teacher in Pogradec. After four years he returned to Tirana, this time as an author at the National Theatre, the function he served until 1986, when he went in free creativity. In 1992 he was elected Member of Parliament. At the end of the legislature he withdrew from politics. Engaged author, Pulaha is known for polemicists in the treatment of acute conflicts of the day in his plays. Action in these works often provokes social and political debates.

The style of Pulaha is known for the simple composition, clear action, concrete and direct dialogue, and excellent portrayal of characters.

Talent and civic commitment helped him successfully to overcome the change of political system in Albania. After several successful plays before 1991, as "Maro Mokra", "Teacher of Literature", "In front of myself" "Under the stage lights", "Patient Doctor", "Tomorrow is too late", "Stairs" etc., he underwent a period of "transition" as the first radio soap opera screenwriter Albanian "Pine Street" (in association with BBC Radio). In 2000 he returned to the stage with "Crazy Time" and manages to be requested again and staged, with "The shelter of the forgotten" (2004). In 2001 - 2002 is also the screenwriter of the first Albanian televised soap opera, "People and Destinies".
