Ryan Zachary Braun (born July 29, 1980) is a Canadian right-handed former Major League Baseball pitcher. He is 6'1" and weighs 215 lbs. Though he was born in Canada, Braun grew up in California, and played college baseball at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
He made his major league debut on September 2, 2006. He made 9 appearances during the 2006 season, and had a 6.75 ERA. In 2007, he had a 6.64 ERA. In March 2008, the Royals optioned him to their Triple-A team in Omaha. He then underwent reconstructive elbow surgery, and missed the 2008 season.[1]
He signed a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training with the Chicago White Sox in January 2009.[2]
