Ryan Castro

Ryan Castro (born January 31, 2005) is an American film and theater actor from Port Washington, New York.

He has appeared in the New York premiere of Box[1] from Improbable Stage Company [2] and Celebrities In Disgrace a short film produced by Bravo Sierra Productions based on the novella Celebrities In Disgrace by American author Elizabeth Searle.

While attending East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) to play NCAA Division II American football, he became involved in theater after taking acting classes with Erma Duricko. Despite having had no prior acting experience, Castro quickly became involved in work on the ESU stage. After getting cast in several mainstage productions with both the Theater and Music departments at ESU, he became a part of Hollow Tree Films[3] a local film production company. He played the lead role of "Malcolm" in the 2009 Hollow Tree Films production of The Road Home[4] which was nominated for best feature film and best screenplay at the 2009 Pocono Mountains Film Festival.[5] Upon achieving early success in theater and film, he officially left football at ESU after his freshman year to pursue an acting career.

In December, 2012, he made his TV debut in the Gossip Girl episode "The Revengers" as a police detective.

Castro currently resides in New York.
