Ryan Michael McStay (born 4 December 1985), is a professional footballer currently playing for Portadown in the NIFL Premiership. He has previously played in the Scottish Premier League for Falkirk.

He began his career with Falkirk at U16 D-Form level, before playing for Partick Thistle, Dumbarton and Albion Rovers. He also had a loan spell at Queen of the South whilst at Falkirk.

Career

At Falkirk McStay scored the goal that got the club promoted to the SPL in the 2004–2005 season. Despite this McStay left Falkirk in the summer of 2007 in search of first team football. He joined Partick Thistle on 1 June, as one of the first three summer signings by new manager Ian McCall.

On 31 January 2009 McStay was released by Partick Thistle. On the same day he played as a trialist for Dumbarton and signed a deal to stay to the end of the season after the game.

On 18 July 2011 McStay signed for his local and newly promoted division two side Albion Rovers on a one-year deal. McStay left Rovers after the 2011–2012 season, and has signed for Ayr United on a 1-year deal.[1]

McStay signed for Junior side Irvine Meadow in August 2013 but left for Northern Irish side Portadown later the same month.[2][3]

On 3 July 2014 McStay signed for Annan Athletic it was the second time, that Annan Athletic manager Jim Chapman has signed him. [4]
