Sørarnøy or Sørarnøya is a small island and village in the municipality of Gildeskål in Nordland county, Norway. The 4-square-kilometre (1.5 sq mi) island is located west of the villages of Lekanger, Mårnes, and Våg on the neighboring island of Sandhornøya. Its population (2007) is 205.[1][2]
The fishing village of Sørarnøya covers the majority of the island of Sørarnøya. There are actually two islands, Sørarnøy and Nordarnøy, that are connected by a short bridge, that form the larger village area that the locals call "Arnøyene". The closest town to Sørarnøy is Bodø, to the north, which can be reached by boat.[3]
