SS Blanche was the first ship built at A and J Inglis, Pointhouse, Glasgow and launched in 1863 with Yard No 1. She was initially owned by H L Seligmann, Glasgow, who sold her in 1864 to M Langlands & Sons, Glasgow. She was wrecked on 15 July 1891 on the Isle of Tudy on her passage from Cardiff to Quimper, Brittany.[1]
