Sa'ka Forces or Egyptian Thunderbolt Forces (Arabic: قوات الصاعقة; also spelled As Saiqa for Thunderbolt), is an Egyptian military Commando force established by Major General Galal Haredi. High fitness is required and training is conducted at the military academy within Al-Sa'ka Academy which was built by Major General Ahmed Ragai Ateya.
Their operational record has been mixed. In one incident, they even managed to outdo Palestinian terrorists, by killing 56 out of 98 hostages they were tasked to rescue, in the assault on EgyptAir Flight 648 in Malta in November 1985.[1][2]
