Saatchi Art is the world's largest international online art gallery. The company was originally known as Saatchi Online. The Saatchi Art marketplace contains original paintings, photography, drawings and sculpture by approximately 65,000 artists from 100 countries worldwide.[1]
Saatchi Art has sold and shipped artworks to collectors in over 80 countries. The company's online selection of artworks is curated by Rebecca Wilson, Chief Curator of Saatchi Art and Vice President of Saatchi Art's Art Advisory service.[2]
The former CEO of Saatchi Art is Sean Moriarty. In August 2014, Saatchi Art was acquired by Demand Media, of which Moriarty is now CEO.[3] Saatchi Art is based in Los Angeles, California.
Curators
Rebecca Wilson, Chief Curator and VP, Art Advisory at Saatchi Art. Formerly a director at the Saatchi Gallery, London, where she was instrumental in the launch of the gallery's online presence.[4] In 2007, she created New Sensations, a prize for art students which identifies and supports the most exciting emerging artists in the UK.[5] Prior to joining the Saatchi Gallery, Wilson worked for 14 years in book and art magazine publishing: she was editor of ArtReview, and before that deputy editor of Modern Painters. She has over 10 years of experience working with emerging artists.
Hayley Miner, Director of Art Advisory to the Trade.[6] Before joining Saatchi Art, Miner ran her own art consulting firm which she established in 2011, advising private and corporate clients on building their art collections.[7] She also worked for Michael S. Smith, the legendary designer for The White House, before starting her own design and art advising business. Prior to this, she worked on feature films for Warner Bros. and Paramount studios as a Directors Guild assistant director as well as a set decorator. Hayley is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles.
Katherine Henning, Associate Curator at Saatchi Art. Formerly the Assistant Curator at Saatchi Art. She received her MA in History of Art and the Art Market: Modern and Contemporary Art from Christie’s Education, New York, and her BA in English Literature (Creative Writing) from University of Southern California.
Jessica McQueen, Assistant Curator at Saatchi Art. She earned her B.A. in Art History and English at the University of California, Los Angeles. She was formerly an assistant arts and entertainment editor for the Daily Bruin, UCLA's newspaper.
