Sabancı University (Turkish: Sabancı Üniversitesi), established in 1994, is a private university in Istanbul, Turkey. Its first students matriculated in 1999. The first academic session started on October 20, 1999.[1] In 2015, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings placed the institution at 182nd worldwide.[2]

Pakistani novelist Nimra Ahmed's novel "Jannat K Patte" (Leaves of Heaven) is based on Erasmus Programme, where the protagonist Haya went to Sabancı University through Erasmus Mundus, which marked the turning point in her life.[3]
