Sachini Ayendra Stanley (Sinhalese: සචිනි අයේන්ද්‍රා ස්ටැන්ලි) (born 8 April 1982), is a Sri Lankan film actress who works in Sinhala movies. She won Miss Sri Lanka title in 2003. After being crowned as the winner of the Miss Sri Lanka, her first film, Aadaraneeya Wassaanaya was released in 2004. She earned her first award for best supporting actress at Signis Sri Lanka Film Awards for her performance in Adaraneeya Wassaanaya.[1]

Early life and background

Sachini Ayendra was born in Kandy, Sri Lanka. She studied at the Hillwood College, Kandy. Sachini was the winner of best model in Kandy at a pageant in 2002 and Miss Sri Lanka title in 2003 and she represented Sri Lanka at the Miss World 2003.[2]

Career

While in school Sachini modeled for a TV commercial of the Elephant House soft drink called Ride. Also the Sthree advertisement of the National Savings Bank in 2002. After winning the Miss Sri Lanka contest, Sachini ventured into films with the film, Adaraneeya Wassanaya became a major commercial success in 2003. She won the best supporting actress award at Signis Sri Lanka Film Awards and received her first nomination for Sarasaviya and Presidential Film Awards. Her second film Sankara was one of her best performances.
