Sadie Kaye
Sadie Kaye is a comic TV & radio writer-performer, filmmaker and author. She is best known in her native Hong Kong as the Radio Television Hong Kong personality "Miss Adventure".[1]
Early Life
A British national, she was born and raised in Sai Kung, Hong Kong.[2] She was educated at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge University, graduating in 1998.[3]
TV & Radio Career
She was a children's television presenter in Hong Kong. She presented "Beezwacks" on TVB and a comedy slot on Hong Kong's Metro Radio.[2]
She created "Dinner Party", an interactive TV series,[4] for ETV in London. "Dinner Party" was commended for "Best Use of New Media" at the UK Broadcast Awards in 2002.[5] She was a subject of Maverick Television's "The New Entrepreneurs", a series of short films broadcast on Channel 4.[6]
She was a partner in Esther Rantzen's entertainment company Blue Reef Entertainment in 2006.[7]
She first played "Miss Adventure" in a TV skit with rock band Motorhead for HBO's Funny or Die in 2012.[8] Since 2013, she has performed as the Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) personality "Miss Adventure", with regular shows broadcast on RTHK Radio 3.[9]
In 2015 she was a guest on Radio Television Hong Kong's "123 Show", discussing bipolar disorder[10] and sleepwalking.[11]
She's a development producer and Head of Social Responsibilities for Greenhouse Media Investments, a film company in London.[12] She divides her time between Hong Kong and London.
Documentaries
She produced and presented the 2010 documentary film "Sailing Miss Sadie".[13] In the film, broadcast on Sky TV, she sails from the UK to Venezuela with three young offenders from The Prince's Trust.[14]
In 2011 she produced and presented the Sky TV documentary "Tucker's Luck".[15]
In 2015, she produced and presented a documentary about bipolar disorder for Radio Television Hong Kong.[16] "The Bipolar Express" was Highly Commended by the Association for International Broadcasting at the 2015 AIB Awards in London.[17][18]
Publications
Her children's book, "The Wishing Machine" was published 31 October 2014 by Austin Macauley Publishers in London.[19] She writes a humorous column for Sai Kung Buzz as her Radio Television Hong Kong personality "Miss Adventure".[20]
Charity
She is the creative director of arts charity Art Saves Lives International.[21] She is an ambassador for Hong Kong children's charity Child Builder.[22]
