The Safina (Swahili for "Ark") is a political party in Kenya. At the legislative elections on 27 December 2007, the party won 5 out of 210 elected seats.
The Party Leader is Paul Kibugi Muite, a former Member of Parliament for Kabete constituency and a Senior Counsel at the Kenyan Bar. He and his running mate, Dr. Shem Ochudho, are contestants for the Presidency of Kenya in the March 4, 2013 election. The party is also fielding 4 candidates for Governor; 10 candidates for the Senate; 10 County Women Representatives; 52 candidates for the National Assembly; and 400 candidates for the County Assemblies across the country.
The Safina party's highest organ is a National Executive Council which meets twice a year. The NEC is elected for 4 year terms by a National Delegates Convention. The current NEC was elected on July 15, 2011.
