Safiuddin Sarker Academy and College is a school located at Tongi, Gazipur Sadar Upazila, Gazipur District, Bangladesh. It offers 5 years primary education, 5 years high school education and 2 years college education. The education system of SSAC is co-education. The language of instruction is Bengali. Currently, around 6,000 students are studying in this institution. The Institution has an enriched science lab, computer lab, library and auditorium. It has its own server room equipped with latest and state of art server equipment to provide the fast internet to the students to learn well. The school is securing first position in Primary School Certificate (PSC) Examination, Junior School Certificate (JSC) Examination and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination since last 10 years in Gazipur District. It also marked as top 10 education institution of Dhaka Board in 2005-2006, 2006-2007 academic year. The school arranges different cultural shows by its students frequently.

History

SSAC start as a kindergarten in 1978. The founder of SSAC is Hasan Uddin Sarker, a former parliament member of People's Republic of Bangladesh. In 1984 it affiliated by Dhaka Education Board as a secondary school and first batch of SSC bring out 1986. In 1994 this school open college section.

Academics

The institute has a large auditorium in central building 4th Floor, a science lab, computer lab, and a resourceful library name "Kafil Uddin Sarker Library" in southern building 2nd floor for students and teacher. The number of present teaching staff is 105.[4]

Course of studies

National (NCTB) curriculum is followed for Bengali-medium sections. Bangla are compulsory for all the faculties. This curriculum includes lower secondary, secondary and higher secondary school academic subjects. Computer education is available for students of secondary and higher secondary (11 and 12). Students of secondary (9 and 10) and higher secondary (11 and 12) classes elect to one of three major groups : arts/humanities, business studies, and science.
