The Sahrawi Football Federation (FSF) (Arabic: الصحراوية لكرة القدم, Spanish: Federación Saharaui de Fútbol) is the governing body of football for Western Sahara, a territory that is disputed between Morocco and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. It was created on exile in 1989,[1] and is based on the 27 February school, quarter 4, at the Sahrawi refugee camps in Tindouf province, Algeria.[2]

International affiliation

The Sahrawi Football Federation is not affiliated neither to the CAF neither to the FIFA.[2] They were the first federation on being provisionally affiliated to the NF-Board in December 2003.[3][4] On March 25, 2012, Mohamed Moulud Mohamed Fadel, SADR Minister for Youth and Sports, announced the creation of the Sahrawi national football team, by decision of the own team players, stating that "the reason behind its absence of the African football competitions is due to its non-membership in the Confederation of African Football.".[5]
