Salai (needle)

Salai (Punjabi: ਸਲਾਈ) (also known as Baaj (Punjabi: ਬਾਜ)) is a specially designed turban needle that is used by Sikhs for tucking hair inside from Patka and is also used for smoothing out the folds (larh) of dastar. It is an important item for bringing the charm of turban. There are various ranges of Salai used by Sikhs.
