Saleh Al-Qaraawi

Saleh Al-Qaraawi (in Arabic صالح القرعاوي) is a Saudi national and the leader of Al Qaeda in Saudi Arabia.[1] He was identified as such on February 3, 2009 when Saudi Arabian security officials identified him through a list of their 85 most wanted list. He was also a founder of the related Abdullah Azzam Brigades (in Arabic كتائب عبدالله عزام) in 2009 as an offshoot of al-Qaeda in Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, and was tasked with hitting targets in the Levant and throughout the Middle East.

Al-Qaraawi was arrested on June 9, 2012 after returning to Saudi Arabia from Pakistan where he was gravely wounded in a drone strike.[2][3]
