Samvel Sevada (Armenian: Սամվել Սևադա), is an Armenian artist, photographer and poet, born September 12, 1949 in the city of Gyumri.

Biography

Samvel Sevada was born in Gyumri, Armenia. In 1974 Sevada graduated from the Yerevan's State Fine Arts and Theater Institute. Since 1980 he is a member of the Armenian Union of Artists, 2009 Member of the Armenian Union of Photographers. 1996–1998 Sevada has been General painter of Yerevan, 1989–2006 lived and created in the USA, in 1990 opened the first Armenian painting school in the US.[1]
Samvel Sevada has set up "Sevada Art Studio" in Yerevan.

Photos of Samvel Sevada are published in many journals and magazines in the US, Canada, Russia, Ukraine and many more countries.[2] Samvel Sevada had more than 32 exhibition in different countries of the world: USA, Canada, Poland, Moldova, Estonia, Moscow, Tbilisi, Yerevan,.[3][4]

His son, Armenian director Art Sevada (Artak Sevada) plans the screening of the movie The Genex on April 24, 2015 when Armenians around the world will be marking the 100th anniversary of the start of the Ottoman Empire's genocidal policy during World War I that resulted in the killings and deportations of some 1.5 million Armenians.[5]
