San Juan is one of 29 barangays or villages in the municipality of San Jose, Camarines Sur in the Philippines.[1] It is located in the municipality's poblacion or downtown core.
Geography and demographics
Barangay San Juan is classified as an urban place and is composed of 6 puroks or zones. It is generally described as plain with a total land area of 20.117658 hectares.[2][3] It is bounded to the north by Del Carmen, south by Danlog, east by Kinalansan, and in the west by San Antonio. Its major source of livelihood is agriculture (farming) and employment with both public and private enterprises/establishments. It has a total population of 923, with 220 households,[2] 218 families, and 790 registered voters.
Government
Elected barangay officials are as follows: Alicia V. Pilapil- Punong Barangay and the barangay councilors are: Erna S. Clores, Roel P. Gubat, Sonny P. Huit, Loreto Socorro T. Peñas, Ofero C. Cariño, Teresa A. Bantog, and Nimpha A. Belaro. The appointed barangay secretary and treasurer are: Mariejo P. Aguilar and Maria Luisa P. Ortiz, respectively. Barangay personnel include 10 barangay tanod, 7 barangay health workers, 1 Nutrition Scholar, and 6 purok/zone leaders.
