Sanam Re is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Divya Khosla Kumar and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and co-produced by Ajay Kapoor.[2][3] The film features Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela as the lead roles while Rishi Kapoor appears in a crucial supporting role.[4][5][6]
The film released worldwide on 12 February 2016.
Plot
Six year old Akash (Pulkit Samrat) lives with his parents and grandfather (Rishi Kapoor) who is a photographer. Akash's grandfather is also an expert in saying people's fortune. He predicts that Akash will fall in love with a girl who is 500 steps away from their studio. He also says that they both will be in love forever but won't be together. Akash moves as per the instruction of his grandpa and finds a tall girl who is elder than him. Akash moves out of disappointment.
Meanwhile Akash (Pulkit Samrat) who is now grown up falls in love with his classmate Shruti (Yami Gautam). He believes that Shruti is the girl who is meant for him. But everything happens just like his grandpa said. Akash moves to another place for his higher studies.
In the present, Akash works for a private firm and also leads a boring life. When Akash learns that his grandfather's health condition has worsened, he decides to leave the city. He also tries to find Shruti but fails. When he finds that his boss (Manoj Joshi) dismissed him, he rushes back. Later Akash is asked to bring up a big deal for his company for which he travels to Canada to meet Mrs. Pablo, their company investors wife who is now broken up with her husband. Akash arrives in a yoga camp conducted by an ex-sex worker Babyji (Bharti Singh). Akash be friends with Mrs. Pablo and learns that her real name is Akansha (Urvashi Rautela). Akash also meets Shruti in the camp who behaves like a tomboy. Akash proposes Akansha for his own use and he pretend to be in love with her. After spending some days in Canada, Akash and Shruti again falls in love with each other. It is also revealed that Akansha is none other than the tall girl that Akash met in his childhood. Akash is again left heart broken when Shruti says that she is not ready to be in a relationship.
Akash finds that she still loves him and embarks on a journey to find the truth behind Shruti's rejection. Akash becomes completely shocked when he learns from Shruti's cousin that she is suffering from a rare heart disease. He also finds that her heart needs to be transplanted soon.
After some time, Shruti moves out from the hospital and finds that her heart disease has been cured. In order to be with Akash she moves to the city to find Akash but fails in finding him. Finally, Shruti is left heart broken when she finds that her disease is not cured indeed it was Akash who donated his heart. Shruti then believes that Akash lives in her heart before the screen cuts to black.

Production
The film began production in December 2014, in Shimla.[7] Sanam Re was shot in multiple locations like Mumbai, Chandigarh , Shimla, Kalpa and Ladakh, Banff, Jasper and Calgary, Canada.[8][9][10]

The music for Sanam Re is composed by Mithoon, Jeet Ganguly, Amaal Mallik, and Epic Bhangra. Raju Singh has composed the original background score. The lyrics are penned by Rashmi Virag, Mithoon, Manoj Muntashir, Manoj Yadav, Ikka Singh and Kumaar. The music rights of the film have been acquired by T-Series.
The film's title track in the voice of Arijit Singh was released as a single on 22 December 2015.[11] The second song, titled "Gazab Ka Hai Yeh Din" was released on 1 January 2016.[12] The full music album was released on 4 January 2016.[13]

Two songs were released later and were not the part of the film's album. The female version of title track was released in the voice of Tulsi Kumar and Mithoon on 4 February 2016.[14] The additional rap song by Badshah titled "Akkad Bakkad", was released on 8 February 2016 to celebrate the music of the film.[15]
