Sandro Gotal (born 9 September 1991) is an Austrian professional footballer of Croatian descent who plays as a striker, for FC St. Gallen.

Career

Gotal started his professional career at a local club called SC Bregenz where he amassed 21 appearances and 8 goals in two years. In January 2010, he moved to First Vienna FC and six months later signed for Wolfsberger AC who were managed at the time by Croatian manager Nenad Bjelica. In his first season with Wolfsberger, he managed eight goals in 27 appearances in the Erste Liga. After struggling in the first part of the 11/12 season, going months without a goal, he moved on loan to SK Austria Klagenfurt (2007). There he made a good start with two goals in his first three games but missed the last nine rounds of the season through injury. He went on loan to SV Horn the next season and had a successful time with the Erste Liga club managing 10 goals in 31 league appearances. He was then brought back to WAC for the 13/14 season with the side now in the Austrian Bundesliga and made 28 appearances for the first side scoring four goals and assisting six more.

Hajduk Split

Sandro's contract with WAC expired at the end of the 13/14 season and the player left on a free transfer, signing for Croatian giants HNK Hajduk Split in June 2014 on a three year deal. Gotal made a good start to his Hajduk career, assisting in a second round Europe League qualifier against Dundalk FC and scoring twice in the third round qualifiers against FC Shakhter Karagandy. His form was good in the league also, managing four goals and an assist in his first five games. He was used by manager Igor Tudor in a variety of positions including left wing, right wing and centre forward.
