Sanjay Kumar is a well known wrestler of India. He was a pupil of wrestler Master Chandgi Ram. He is also a titled of Bharat Kesari and Hind Kesari. He had won Gold Medal in Commonwealth Games in 1995. He secure 5th Position in Asian Championship in 1991 (freestyle category). He won Gold Medal in Dunedin Commonwealth Championship in Senior category (90 kg). He secure 5th position in Tehran Asian Champion ship in 1992. He won bronze in 1993 Victoria Commonwealth Games (Freestyle 90 kg). He secured 6th Position at Alma-Ata, Asian Championship (in Greco-Roman Juniors, 76.0 kg). He is a ARJUNA AWARDEES (Year 1998) wrestler of India. He make a record by winning the Bharat Kesari title 10 time continuously.

- Sanjay had secured 13th position in World Wrestling Championship in 1986 (75 Kg/Free style)
- He secured 5th position in Asian Games in 1986 (74 Kg/Free style)
- He had won Silver Medal in South Asian Games in 1987 (90 Kg/Free style)
- He had won Gold medal in Commonwealth Games in 1991 (Senior 90 Kg/Free style)
- He had won Bronze medal in Commonwealth Championship in 1993 (Senior 90 Kg/Free style) at Victoria, Canada
- He had won Gold medal in Commonwealth Games in 1995 (Senior 90 Kg/Free style).
- He had won Bharat Kesari Dangal (Indian Style Wrestling Tournament) many times in his career. The fight between Subhash Verma (Competitor) and Sanjay Kumar always equal in the dangals. The people were going to see their match because of both wrestler Subhash and Sanjay.
