Sanjay Pathak is a businessman and two time MLA (member of legislative assembly) from Vijayraghavgarh constituency of Katni District in Madhya Pradesh State, India.

Personal

Sanjay Pathak was born in Katni, Madhya Pradesh. His father, Satyendra Pathak, served as a government minister under Digvijaya Singh.[1]

Political career

Former Katni Zilla (district) Panchayat President, Sanjay Pathak won the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2008 from his family constituency Vijayraghavgarh. In the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2008,contesting assembly elections first time in his life, he defeated sitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Dhruv Pratap Singh by more than 20,000 votes. He retained his seat in the 2013 Elections, though this time he won by very little margin of 950 votes against his rival Ms. Padma Shukla of BJP. He Resigned for his seat in April 2014 and joined BJP and won the August By-Poll (Link2) by a huge margin of 53397 votes.

Business Ventures

Belonging to a well-known family of businessmen, he has been into various business like iron ore/bauxite mining , coal mining ,hotels , resorts , school , college , newspaper in India . He also has coal mining business in Indonesia.
