Sankhni is a village in Uttar Pradesh state, India. It's 3 km from Jahangirabad, 25 km from Bulandshahr and 100 km from Delhi. Numbers of families moved to Delhi and visit the village occasionally.
Demographics
The majority of this village, around 95%, are Muslims (Ashna Ashri/Twelver ), other communities are also living there freely. Some families moved to Pakistan at the time of the Partition of India and some to Jahangirabad and Aligarh. These families sometimes return for short visits to their relatives.
The occupation of the villagers is agriculture. Farmers use high Tech. machines and modern technology for cultivation and farming. Teaching is also a vital source of earning. A large number of teachers are working in Government Sectors in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
Education
Sankhni has produced many professionals including teachers, doctors, journalists and engineers. Some engineers and doctors from the village are now working in USA,UK,Germany, Gulf and in their native country India. There are a number of government and private schools in Sankhni, so the education standard from primary to senior secondary level of Sankhni Village is comparable to that of a city. Thousands of candidates from Sankhni have competed for the competitive exams and have been selected for both government and private sectors.

Lots of poets, Marsia Khuwan and Nohe khuwan such as Riazat Ali "Shaiq", Late Master Mairaj Husain, Late Mirza Riyaz Ali, Mirza Chand faizi, Late Mirza Nazim Abbas are from Sankhni Village and have the ability to perform at National and International level.
