Santosh University is a intercollege based in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Established by Mrs. Paramasivam Mahalingam in 1995, Santosh University started with 5 admissions annually which were later increased to 100 annual admissions by Government of India notification. At present, different 1-12 standard, graduate , M.Sc. and doctoral courses are taught under the ambit of the Santosh University with prior approval of the Council of India and School Council of India.
The Santosh primary school Colleges & Hospitals, Ghaziabad, were established in the year 2012.
The Santosh Primary school/ Colleges were affiliated with the Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut. In 2007, Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Higher Education), Government of India, deemed it to be University on the recommendations of the University Grants Commission. At present, different inter degree, post graduate degree, M.Sc. degree and doctoral courses are taught under the ambit of the Santosh University with the prior approval of the Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India. In addition to offering degrees in medicine and dentistry, the university provides education of healthcare professionals and biomedical students, research in health science and comprehensive health care.
Its teaching methodology includes:
- Organ based teaching method
- Delivery of interdisciplinary programs leveraging strengths across schools like Forensic and Odontology
- Innovation and research carried out by students in emerging areas like stem cell banking, cord blood banking, cryopreservation of RBC and tissue engineering
It uses a blend of classroom, practical and community engagement to promote holistic learning, like- expert guest lectures, workshops and conferences, simulation labs for development of clinical skills, field immersion programs (For example – School Health Programs for pediatricians), practice based learning (For example – child guidance clinic guided by pediatrician, psychiatrist, clinical psychologist and occupational therapist). Digital library (e-Publication): Provides remote access to many journals and publications, Video-conferencing set-up to enable the delivery of NME-ICT programs and Clinical skill lab enables the simulation of real-life clinical situations for trainee students Santosh University has developed a comprehensive evaluation system to ensure high academic standards. The comprehensive evaluation system includes:
- Formative and Summative Assessment
- Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
- Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE)
- Evaluation by external experts for PhD programs

Administrative Block
Santosh University’s administrative block is located on the 4th floor and houses the offices of the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor, the Dean (Medical and Dental), the Registrar, the Controller of Examinations and the Finance Controller.
Central Library
Spread over an area of 4000 square meter, the central library is located both on the first and the second floor of the University. Open between 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. , the library is a huge storehouse of large number of books, journals and reference materials. Having a separate room for self-reading for the students, the interns and the residents of the University, it also offers internet connectivity along with Xerox facilities.
Lecture Theatres
Santosh University has lecture theatres, which are equipped with student-lockers and supported by demonstration rooms, seminar rooms and departmental library.
Laboratory
Santosh University has general and dedicated laboratories which are fully equipped with microscopes, artificial lights, electrical points, washing facilities and preparation rooms. The laboratories are dedicated to some of the departments, such as Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine. The labs are also furnished with some special equipment, such as MRI and CT machine, wherever required. Moreover, the labs have museums with specimens and samples related to the different departments along with brochures.
Auditorium
With a sitting capacity of more than 500 people, the auditorium hosts various socio-cultural and academic events all round the year.
Pharmaco Vigilance Center
Located in the Pharmacology Department at Santosh Medical College, the Government of India has identified Santosh University as the regional center for Pharmaco Vigilance Programs.
Hostel
Providing separate dormitories for boys and girls. Providing basic amenities such as, internet connectivity, recreation rooms, common rooms, and an in-house mess, the hostel rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. While there is a common dining room for all, separate areas are embarked for boys, girls, staff and other residents.
Residential Quarters
There are 179 residential quarters allotted to the teaching and non-teaching staff of Santosh University, 58 quarters are allocated to the teaching faculty and 121 quarters to the non-teaching staff.
Canteen
There are two canteens for the students, hospital staff and visitors. There is also a separate canteen cum mess for the students availing the hostel facilities.
Medical Facilities
In-house medical facilities are available for the students, faculty, staff and other members of Santosh University.
Sports and Recreation
The university does number of recreational and sporting activities. Santosh provides amenities for outdoor and indoor games, both.
Colleges
Medical College
Santosh Medical College and Hospital was established in 1995. Medical Council of India has accorded permission and duly recognized the postgraduate courses in 17 disciplines. Nearly 70 students are presently pursuing their post-graduation courses. The college was accorded the Deemed Universities Status by the Ministry of HRD, duly recommended by U.G.C. in the year 2007.
Dental College
The Government of India, under Section 10A (4) of the Dentists Act 1948 granted permission to start the B.D.S. course in 1995-96 at Santosh Dental College, Ghaziabad. The students are given a complete understanding for the biological and physical process of oral health care. They learn the skills associated with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to oral cavity. The students learn to serve the society by improving the dental and oral health of individuals. The associated dental hospital provides special dental care in pediatrics and oral surgery.
