Santutxu is a station of the Line 1 and Line 2 of Metro Bilbao. The station before is Casco Viejo and the station after is Basarrate. It is located in the neighborhood of Santutxu, in the district of Begoña in the city of Bilbao.[1] It is one of the two stations located in the neighborhood, the other one being Basarrate station. Its fare zone is A and it is an underground station.

It was opened July 5, 1997 and can be accessed from three different places in the neighborhood; Zabalbide Street, Fagoaga Street and Karmelo Street (the elevator for people with wheelchairs can be accesses from there).

Services

Metro services

The station is served by Line 1 to Etxebarri, Bidezabal and Plentzia and Line 2 to Basauri and Santurtzi. There are trains to San Inazio every two minutes, as both lines run in the same direction, trains from line 2 to Santurtzi and Bidezabal every five minutes and to Plentzia every twenty minutes.[2] There are extended services on weekends. Passengers willing to interchange from line 1 to line 2 or vice versa may do it in this station.
