Saptrishi Ghosh is an Indian film and television actor. He is also known as a voiceover (voice dubbing) artist. As an actor he appeared in many Indian television serials, like Balika Vadhu,[1] Bade Achhe Lagte Hain,[2] Daag [3] Kitani Mohabbat Hai (season 2) & many more. He appears in Savdhaan India, Crime Patrol etc. television series on regular basis.[4] In early years of his acting career he appeared in full-length feature Films like Amrita (NFDC) and Shotti Eyi Toh Jibon (Bengali) etc. He was associated as the Voice Over (Voice Dubbing) Artist for Discovery India, Zee TV, SET Max etc. television channels.[5]

Early life

He was born in Calcutta on 16 March 1974, and subsequently raised in Lucknow, during his early years. After an initial schooling at the Cathedral School of Lucknow, he relocated to Calcutta in 1984, and finished his secondary schooling in Bhavan's Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir, and his higher secondary schooling from the Scottish Church College in north Kolkata. Subsequently, he studied commerce (till the postgraduate level) at the Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla. He also trained at the NIIT for a course in computer software.

Screen Works

Saptrishi Ghosh Started doing theater from a very early age and upon coming over to Mumbai in 1996 he started doing voice overs and acting for Television and Films. His first project was for Sony TV's "Family No. 1". He Had been associated with Discovery Channel and Zee TV from 1998. During the same time did a motion picture for NFDC "Amrita" (in Hindi). The following year he did a major Bengali feature film Shotti Eyi Toh Jibon starring Victor Banerjee, Moushumi Chatterjee, Moon Moon Sen and Soumitra Chatterjee. He Was introduced by Edit 2 Productions in a television serial for Sony TV called Lajja. Simultaneously he Also did Mooch Nahi Toh Kuch Nahi for the same production house.

Voice Overs

Saptrishi Ghosh Started doing voice overs (voice dubbing) from the year 1997. Discovery Channel was the first to hire him as their voice for dubbing for their English to Hindi programs. Then he became Zee TV's voice over artist from 1998 till 2004. He Did voice over (voice dubbing) for Zee TV's all promos and regional stuffs during his association with Zee TV from thew year 1998 to 2004. Thereafter he joined SET MAX as their channel's voice over artist. He was associated with SET Max From 2005 to 2009. In between that period he did a lot of voice overs (voice dubbing) for television & radio commercials.

Career Details

Saptrishi Ghosh started his journey way back in his childhood from Lucknow. Theater was his first calling and he started enacting as child actor in theater there. Thereafter, in Calcutta also he kept on doing theater but the real calling came when he shifted to Mumbai for his career's betterment. After the initial patch of struggle he got his foothold with serials like Lajja (Sony TV), Family No.1 (Sony TV), and Mooch Nahi Toh Kuch Nahi (DD National) etc. Even before he embarked on TV, big screen gave its share of name and fame to him through films like Amrita (NFDC) and Shotti Eyi Toh Jibon (Bengali). A second parallel profession had also developed by then which is voice overs (Voice Dubbing). A series of TV programs followed one after the others.

Saptrishi Ghosh has also did voice dubbing for a string of popular Hollywood blockbuster films like Superman, Spider Man series, Gladiator, Avengers, Thor I & II and more recently Gods of Egypt to name a few. He is also a distinguished voice artist for Discovery channel, History TV18, and National Geographic Channel. He is also active in emceeing and hosting programs and awards nights.
