Dr Sarath Samarage (also known: Sarath M. Samarage) is a well known Consultant Community Physician in Sri Lanka and a National Consultant World Health Organization Sri Lanka office.[1][2][3]

Early life

Sarath who was born in Panadura, received his entire education from Nalanda College Colombo. While at school he was the editor of the College Magazine, editor Cricket Souvenir Buddhist Society, Secretary-Science Society, Literary Society. Later he entered University of Colombo's medical faculty and graduated with a MBBS, becoming a Medical Docotor. Further enhancing his academic studies Dr. Sarath obtained a MSc & a MD from the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine of University of Colombo in Community Medicine.

Career

Dr Samarage was also the former Deputy Director General Planning, Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka.[4] He is also the current President of Association of Medical Doctors of Asia.[5] Dr Sarath is currently the President of the Lions Club of Panadura.[6] Dr Sarath was also the former President of the Medical Administrators of Sri Lanka.[7][8]
