Save the Planet

Save the Planet is a minor political party in Australia.

The environmentalist party aims to avoid global warming by returning average global temperatures to pre-industrial levels as quickly as possible. The party also aims to create a world that is environmentally and socially sustainable without inequality.[1]

Electoral results

The party endorsed candidates in Brunswick, Monbulk, Northcote, Frankston and the Legislative Council region of Northern Metropolitan at the 2014 Victorian election, but as the party was unregistered, they were listed on the ballot paper as independents, and 'ungrouped' (below the line) in the upper house. No candidate received more than 1.5% of the vote.[2]

The unregistered party also endorsed candidates (standing as independents) in the 2013 federal election in the divisions of Bendigo, Corangamite, Batman, Kooyong, Melbourne and Wills. The party's best result was in Wills at 2.25% of the total.[3]
