Sayonara Technopolis (サヨナラTECHNOPOLiS lit. Goodbye/Farewell Technopolis) is the fifth single by the Japanese electronica artist Mitsuki Aira. It was released January 21, 2009.[1]

The single was marketed with the tagline "Electro meets big beat", and the tracks Sayonara Technopolis and High SD Sneaker (pronounced "High Speed Dance Sneaker") are most notably big beat-influenced. Track 6 of the single is a "Big Beat Crush remix" of "High SD Sneaker".

Theme and meaning

Aira stated that "Sayonara Technopolis" and its b-sides were written in response to the modern problems of the economy, apathy and global warming, also stating, "I wish that the human race could re-start on the Moon. When the time comes to live in the Moon some time and we see the Earth from the Moon, I hope for the Earth to be the place we want to live."

Aira owns an allotment of land on the Moon, and the single's cover uses NASA-licensed images.[2]
