The I.I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Інститут зоології ім. І. І. Шмальгаузена Національної академії наук України) is leading institution in Ukraine specialized in general zoology. It was officially founded on August 1 of 1930. An outstanding zoologist Ivan Schmalhausen was the first director of the Institute. Currently it consist 14 scientific departaments and laboratories, more than 100 researchers with academic degree works here.
