Situated in the village of Streamwood. Jonathan Tefft, along with his family, was able to provide dairy products to the Hanover Township and Elgin Township, as well as Chicago, due to their farming experience. Recognizing that the Tefft family represented a link in the history of Elgin and Hanover Townships, just as School District U-46 provides a common bond today, the Board of Education decided upon the name "Tefft" for Hanover Township's first junior high school. Some students, those attending Heritage and Parkwood Elementary Schools, transfer to Streamwood High School. Students attending Laurel Hill Elementary School may transfer to either Streamwood or Bartlett High School. This school features the gifted program and Hard of Hearing (HOH) programs. Mascot is the Trojan. Correct as of Sept 2014 |
