Saint Mary's Co-Ed Primary School (also known as Scoil Mhuire CBS or just CBS) is a primary school located in the town of Mullingar. The school has a Official Website that is updated with new photos and paragraphs for students and parents to read and see. 5th and 6th classes now use Mathletics Ireland and Readingeggs to approve their mathematical and reading skills, using the computers provided in the classrooms. Students can alternatively learn at home if they have a computer at home and are allowed to use the internet. The school has recently got new blinds and BenQ projectors for each class and electric windows to keep the school up-to-date. The Department approval granted for pre-school unit and class unit for children with autism, St Mary’s has just received official news that it has been sanctioned to have a Unit for Autistic Children attached to the school. The school has been approved to offer both a preschool facility and a class facility to children with autism. St. Mary's are really excited by the news and are looking forward to many happy years of learning with and from its prospective pupils.
History
The school opened in October 1959 and got an extension in 1970. The school has been renamed to "Saint Mary's Co-Ed Primary School" because it now accepts boys and girls so it is no longer a Christian Brothers School. The school had its 50-year jubilee in 2009. Scoil Mhuire is located beside Coláiste Mhuire. As of February 2013, the school is now co-educational, accepting boys and girls for the first time from Junior Infants up to 6th class starting in September 2013.
