Scott Avedisian (born January 16, 1965)[1] is the Republican mayor of Warwick, Rhode Island, the second largest city in the state after Providence.[2]
Avedisian represented Ward 1 in the Warwick City Council from 1990 to 2000, being reelected four times.[1][2] He was first elected mayor in 2000, and has served since then.[3] He is the youngest person ever elected as Mayor of Warwick and was the youngest person ever elected to the Warwick City Council.[3]
Avedisian holds an undergraduate degree from Providence College and a Master of Public Administration degree from Roger Williams University.[3] He also received an honorary degree from the New England Institute of Technology.[3] He is of Armenian descent.[2]
