Seafood City is a Filipino supermarket chain in the United States with branches in California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Washington.[4][5]

Seafood City Supermarket specializes in Filipino food and products while offering a growing selection of imported Asian goods as well as American staples. As its name suggests, Seafood City provides fresh seafood, as well as meat and produce. In some of its locations, it acts as a marketplace and serves as an anchor to Filipino businesses such as Chowking, Red Ribbon and Tokyo Tokyo. In other locations, Seafood City also features locally owned Filipino video rental stores, immigration offices, travel agencies, and restaurants.

Seafood City opened its first store in San Diego, California in 1989. Today, it has expanded to 18 stores in California, with a concentration in the Greater Los Angeles Area, San Diego County, Northern California and Sacramento. Further expansion has led the company to open markets in Las Vegas, Nevada, Seattle (Tukwila, Washington), and Hawaii.[6]

Expansion plans

Plans to open branches in Queens, New York, New Jersey, and Virginia are being considered to serve the large Filipino communities in the areas.[7]

Seafood City is planning to open a branch in Chicago, Illinois.[8]

Seafood City will open its first Canadian branch in Mississauga, Ontario in the first quarter of 2017.
