Sean Grandillo is an American actor best known for his portrayal of The Voice of Otto/Bass in the fall 2015 revival of Spring Awakening on Broadway. He will star as Eli Hudson on the second season of Scream, which will premiere May 30 on MTV.[1]
Early life
Grandillo grew up in the town of Aurora, Ohio. He attended high school with fellow Broadway performer Kaley Ann Voorhees and was a member of a rock band at school. He has posted multiple covers of songs to his YouTube channel, as well.
He attended Ithaca College and pursued a degree in musical theatre before dropping out to join the cast of Spring Awakening in Los Angeles.[2]
Career
Grandillo auditioned for Spring Awakening while on break from school. Two weeks after auditioning, he moved to Los Angeles to become a part of the original cast of Deaf West's production of the show.[3] He stayed with the cast during their transfer to Broadway, performing until the show's final performance on January 24, 2016.[4]
In 2015, Grandillo also released his first single, New, for sale on iTunes.[3]
Grandillo has appeared in multiple film and television roles, including multiple episodes of the 2015 television series, Secrets and Lies. Grandillo is set to appear in two episodes of the seventeenth season of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. On multiple sources, the episodes are claimed to be some of the most highly anticipated of the season.[5] On January 6, 2016 he was cast as a recurring character, Eli on MTV's hit series Scream (TV series).[6]
